In a recent team meeting, someone mentioned NGINX and because none of us were entirely sure how to pronounce it we decided we needed to learn more.

Turns out it’s “engine-x” – and once you know that, everything else starts to make sense.

NGINX is something we use on a lot of the websites we host. It’s the software quietly working in the background, making sure your site loads fast, handles traffic without flinching, and stays secure. Most people never know it’s there – which is exactly how it should be.

We asked Tam to turn it into something visual, because that’s how we learn best. Here’s what she made.
